Matilde (Nadine Maziarz) I used to listen to this album ALOT (still do) in my first few years of college and it holds a special place in my heart. Ray actually performed at my school and I got a free copy of this album, and here I am returning the favor (sorry it’s so late). Hard to pick a favorite, it’s between Mary Grace, Keplers Theme, and City Sleep. Love ya Ray

Murder Song 00:57
Red, The color of that dress, I'm painting the walls with... Blue, The color of your eyes, and your blood when it's not oxidized. I'll, Be waiting in your appartment you wont notice 'till the light switches on. Then, You could show me around, To a window I could push you out.

Mary Grace 03:22
She pulls a lighter from her pocket, Flicks it twice and stares at the flame, She says, I see food I see warmth, a gift from god exactly tailored for me. But I see it differently you know, It's thermal and it's chemical. Oxygen binds with carbon and hydrogen like a billion little galaxies. I call it physics She calls it Jesus But we both agree that it's beautiful We both agree that it's beautiful And it's beautiful. Isn't it empty in a world without god? Where's your basis for morality? Well if you're only good for god then you're just hiding from the cops I put my faith in humanity. "What reason can your music have?" she asked, If music be food for the soul. I said we get the same feeling I just call it dopamine while you say holy ghost. I call it physics She calls it Jesus But we both agree that it's beautiful We both agree that it's beautiful Galaxies colliding, Earth around the Sun, subatomic particles adding up to protons, stars around the Milky-way, moons around the planets, it goes like clockwork. I call it physics She calls it Jesus But we both agree that it's beautiful We both agree that it's beautiful And it's beautiful.

Let it Burn 03:16
Has this bridge always been burning? I never felt the heat. With your pricking scalpel fingertips, eviscerate me. Better days are bound to come I know Let it burn Burn me out Let it burn Run me out of town Let it burn Wait me out Let it burn I'll be blown out, blown out of the water. Your prose wracks me violently Crack lightning down my spine There's a rumble in my head again When I see your outline Better days are bound to come I know Let it burn Burn me out Let it burn Run me out of town Let it burn Wait me out Let it burn I'll be blown out, blown out of the water. You've got your novocain, Your picture perfect face, When I told you my mind was a graveyard What did you think you would find when you came digging? Now with your revolver tongue, Come on and shoot me in the head. Better days are bound to come I know Run me out of town Let it burn Wait me out Let it burn I'll be blown out, blown out of the water.

Bike Song 03:51
I'm watching pavement fall beneath my tires. I am finding Patterns in the light. The tiny spots of sun that make it through the trees dance by the thousand with the shadows of the leaves. And on my bike no one can find me. Leave my phone off and I'm gone. I'm lifting my head up. face to the sun. That star lays warm kisses on me and promises me, we'll always be in love and I believe her. And on my bike no one can find me. Leave my phone off and I'm gone. I flow like a river down to the sea. Every kick puts demons behind me. I'm riding out until I feel like coming back, I've always wanted to see California. And on my bike no one can find me. Leave my phone off and I'm gone

You left me Broken and battered, When your infection came creeping in. I heard you say over my shoulder, You and I could use a rest. But we can sleep when we're dead. I know your thinking, About jumping, Don't you know, You're life's not just yours. The Devil points his, Crooked finger, Why don't you just, Point back? You left me Broken and battered, When your infection came creeping in. I heard you say over my shoulder, You and I could use a rest. But we can sleep when we're dead.

Did I loose it back there? Did I find it again or are all of my marbles lost? The gnarled teeth of the deep sea fish, Through the dark water I see the pale blue glimmer of bioluminescence. Wonder will I ever make it home? I can see the stars in your breath Skatter like sparks in the wind Fireflies in the perfect black vacuum forever drift in dark infinity. And oh I fear the coming our With eyes straight ahead I watch for souls in the water

City Sleep 05:14
If you’re listening very closely. And very quietly. You can hear the cities song. Close your eyes and Inhale. When your finally home after a late night with loud music and beer and friends smiling excited smiles. Finally home. No light except the orange glow of streetlights through your window. Mumbled voices on the sidewalk and in the apartment under you. The sound of cars on the street below makes a rhythm. Listen for the river. It’s too far away for you to hear it from your apartment on the second floor but you can feel it. You can feel it droning that quiet white noise. You can feel the distant sound in your chest like a heavy bass tone, shaking your shirt. Wild Chaotic energy under calm control. Inhale Behind you, the highway stretches onward past the horizon. The people in their sedans, all with places to be. The big beat up white Ford. A couple of 21 year old kids on a road trip. Feel the one, still awake at 3 am. His friend, asleep in the passenger side, recovering from his turn at the wheel. Their horizon is the warm south with mosquito nets and Spanish moss hanging from the branches of an old oak on the banks of the bayou. The ancient tree can still remember slaves in the cotton fields and horses and railroads. It watched the blue uniforms march from the North just before everything changed. It silently watches the car now, as the two travelers pull over in the dirt to get out and stretch their legs. One watches secretly for alligators in the murky water. There are none to be found here. An argument down on the street brings you back. His voice is muffled through your window by the street sounds and the jungle noises. Some drunk middle aged man is getting kicked out of the bar downstairs. His protests are loud and slurred. You listen to the noise coming from the apartment bellow you. Sounds like old friends. Every so often you hear their deep, muffled laugher through your wood floor. Their discourse, rising and falling, it crescendos and falls back. Think of the girl you met last week. Close your eyes and Inhale When your head hits the pillow you feel your body thank you with that deep, grateful ache of tired muscles. Lay on your left side facing the door and feel yourself sink into your bed… Deeper... You sink slowly down though the floor, through vibrating air of conversation in the unit below, through the ground floor, through the basement, through the buildings foundation. You feel the soil on your bare skin as you slide lower. Down into bedrock. Seep below the crust of the Earth. Deeper and deeper beneath the city above you. You feel the gentle heat coming from the core. The warmth lays hands your naked skin. It engulfs you. This is your place in the universe. Earth. This world fits you so perfectly because you were made to live in it. Exhale

I've got a good thing going, She's got another thing coming When I step outside sun turns to rain, She can't save me, But I'm not alone. She says whatever she thinks, She has too much faith in me My skin cells under her fingernails The morning after If you see her tell her we don't have all that much time Before I get bored and I go out and get some for mine. A smile with regrets of a quietly desperate mind. She will end up hurt, give it time. I'm always set for moving on. You know I look for something wrong. I miss the comfort of being hurt Bring me misfortune. If you see her tell her we don't have all that much time Before I get bored and I go out and get some for mine. A smile with regrets of a quietly desperate mind. She will end up hurt, give it time.

Tonight my brains on fire as skies gather black on gray. It's not a thought but a feeling. It's all ver and taking hold of me. A darkened wind before the rain the storm the words I'd say. The trees are speaking in hushes, They ask each other if the end will come Oh it's all coming back to me I wonder did it ever leave. I see a long dead leaf suspended high up in the gale It goes flipping and spinning Caught up in the fury of the air There's war in both our hearts he fights the wind I fight on dirt We feel the undercurrent It's always there but it pulses louder now. Oh it's all coming back to me I wonder did it ever leave. On your back in the crumbling, empty swimming pool Secret moon silvering the clouds, A drop of rain kiss your lip. If this old pool should fill and the storm thrash water all around you Violently submerged in a torrent of broken glass blood and fingernails and the blood and the blood and the blood and the blood
